The Bay Area Wasn't Just a Destination. It Was a Calling.
I grew up as a military brat — which means I grew up everywhere. East Coast, West Coast, always moving, always adjusting. By the time I graduated high school in Southern California, I'd lived in more places than most people visit in a lifetime.
The summer after I graduated high school, I drove up the coast — SoCal to Washington State — and somewhere in Marin and Sonoma Counties, something shifted. The hills were so lush and green they looked like broccoli mountains to my young eyes. I remember thinking: this is it. This is where I belong.
I was right.
From Niles to Benicia - Finding Home One Town at a Time
My Bay Area journey started in Niles, then Cotati, then Santa Rosa. I spent a stretch in San Francisco, where I quickly realized I was a bumpkin at heart — those buildings were so tall. The city was beautiful, but it wasn't mine.
Then came October 17, 1989.
I was pregnant with my first child, waiting on the ferry dock for the boat home to Benicia, when the Loma Prieta earthquake hit. Standing there, feeling the earth move beneath my feet with a baby on the way, I made a decision as clear and certain as anything I've ever felt: this city was not going to be our home. Benicia was. And I never looked back.
I went to work for a builder, fell in love with the real estate process, sat for my license in 1991, and passed on the first try. More than 35 years later, I'm still here. Still in love with this community. Still showing up for my clients the same way I always have.
I've Seen Every Kind of Market. Twice.
Here's something most agents can't say: I've guided clients through not one but two foreclosure and short sale cycles — plus a global pandemic, multiple interest rate swings, and every kind of market in between.
When the market is hot, I help sellers maximize every dollar. When the market gets complicated — and it does, it always does — I help clients navigate with steady hands and honest advice. I've been the agent who saved a short sale when one lender almost killed the deal. I've helped investors find opportunity when others saw only risk. I've held the hands of families selling homes filled with forty years of memories.
What I've learned through all of it is this: real estate is never really about property. It's about people and the seasons of their lives.
What I Love About This Work
The best part of my career — without question — has been the people.
First-time buyers who can barely believe they're holding the keys. Families navigating the bittersweet process of selling a parent's home. Investors making smart moves. Move-up buyers ready for the next chapter. Every situation is different, and every one of them matters to me personally.
I still get a genuine thrill walking into a well-priced, well-prepared listing and watching buyers fall in love with it. I still feel the satisfaction of a negotiation that goes exactly right for my client. That hasn't changed in 35 years — and I don't expect it to.
When I'm Not Working
I cook. Enthusiastically and often — for friends, for family, for anyone who'll sit at the table.
I read. I watch documentaries and murder mysteries with equal devotion. And whenever I possibly can, I spend time with my grandchild, which has a way of putting everything else in proper perspective.
I'm also an active member of Kiwanis and Lions — volunteering with children and seniors, helping cook community meals, and staying connected to the fabric of the communities I've called home for four decades.
This place isn't just where I work. It's where I live, where I raised my children, where I've planted roots deep enough to weather any market.
Why It Matters That You Choose the Right Agent
Buying or selling a home is one of the most significant financial and emotional decisions of your life. You deserve someone who tells you the truth, knows the market inside and out, and genuinely cares what happens to you long after the closing documents are signed.
That's what I've built my reputation on — and it's what I bring to every single transaction.
